Since entering the 21st century, with the rapid development of computer processing technology, network communication technology, storage technology, and the widespread popularity of virtualization technology, cloud computing as a new type of utility computing method has emerged in the context of globalization, and achieved vigorous development. The development of cloud computing can be said to be Amazon Web Services (AWS). In the early days,
Amazon mastered the main development and trends, and it can said AWS was a pioneer in the cloud computing market (Boulton, 2016).
Cloud computing has quickly gained the favor of enterprises and users with its great convenience and low cost, and has gradually penetrated into all areas of social life. Since living in the digital age, most people are affected and reaped benefits from it. Cloud computing is involved in both work and life. The new business model created by cloud computing makes enterprise management more convenient, but also brings many new problems. In the next part will describe the origin, development, and influence of cloud computing.
Background and the trend of historical
Cloud computing originated in the U.S.. In 2007, Google and ibm began to promote cloud computing-based big data services on American university campuses. Since then, Yahoo, HP, Apple, and Microsoft have successively announced their participation in cloud computing development. The definition of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of cloud computing is widely accepted:
“it is a pay-per-use model that provides available, convenient, and on-demand network access, into a configurable computing resource sharing pool ”(Mell & Grance, 2011).
When it talks about cloud computing, we have to mention Amazon Web Services (AWS).

More than ten years ago, when AWS launched its first cloud computing service, most people thought it was just a high-input, low-profit industry. But with the development of cloud computing, it changes the IT industry and profoundly changes the way people work and companies operate. Cloud computing will allow digital technology to penetrate every corner of the economy and society. Before the rise of cloud computing, for most companies, hardware purchase and rent of the room itself was the mainstream way of IT infrastructure construction. The advent of cloud computing suddenly gave another and much more efficient way to people: only need to build through the network, people can easily solve the previous problems. The new information management model makes people’s lives more convenient and brings greater benefits to large commercial enterprises. The mobile apps or websites we browse every day are basically inseparable from “cloud computing” as the powerful service support behind it. Like many shopping websites and social software, cloud computing is also changing our lives. The convenience and benefits of cloud computing make it completely replace the previous information management model, making it become a part of the historical trend.
Benefits in political economic and social sense
As mentioned above, the beneficiaries of cloud computing are very broad, All kinds of companies or organizations that could only rely on physical computers to calculate data in the past, such as government departments, large enterprises and others have obtained huge benefits from cloud computing. The birth of cloud computing has completely changed the business model of the traditional IT industry, and promoted the transformation of the IT industry from providing hardware and software to providing services. Client computers on the Internet can communicate with many servers at the same time, and some of them may still exchange information with each other. In terms of mobility and collaboration, cloud computing also provides advantages for end users (Hayes, 2008). Make people’s lives more convenient.
Currently, cloud computing is becoming the fastest growing field of the information industry, and is regarded as the future development direction of the IT field, and will generate huge market demand. In the IT industry, there have been two major business model innovations, they are Microsoft’s licensing sales model and Google’s traffic monetization model, which have created the business brilliance of Microsoft and Google.
Who get benefits &How Cloud benefits with it?
On the other hand, Microsoft, Google and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have done a lot of work in developing platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS) tools to reduce personal workload (jisc.com, 2020). Cloud computing makes this society more convenient and efficient, and brings huge benefits to people so that they can complete more work at the same time.

For example, instead of waiting for time on the institution’s high-performance computing (HPC) facilities, researchers can use the AWS provider to start computing nodes in the cloud and then work from there (jisc.com, 2020). This provides a greater flexibility, faster experimentation and increased efficiency.
However, there are many groups that have not been affected by cloud computing or have little influence. Traditional handicraft industries or low service industries that have nothing to do with the Internet are minimally affected. But for individuals, in the digital information age of the 21st century, everyone is receiving information from the Internet every day. In fact, cloud computing has a great impact on contemporary young people.
Similarly, cloud computing has a great influence on me. Before I used cloud, I wanted to store information only by printing or using a hard drive. Although this is a method, it is not convenient enough. After getting into cloud, I can complete works on the Internet. For example, in the past I had to install Word or Excel on my computer to write reports. If I want to take work to school or library to complete, I must also install these applications on public computers. But with the cloud, I no longer need to install various programs on their devices, and all work can be done online. This makes my life more convenient. On the other hand, cloud computing raises questions about privacy and security. Because the cloud platform has access to a large number of network applications and corporate services, once a failure occurs, the impact will be very wide, which will cause many websites to be inaccessible and mobile phone software can not be used (Feng, Chen,& Liu, 2010 ). I have encountered such a situation in the past. At that time, Google’s drive was routinely repaired, and my work was stored in the drive and I could not open it. At this time, I couldn’t open any files. This made me being unable to do anything.

There is another problem: With the continuous deepening of enterprise cloud, data leakage has become the most common security problem in the world (Hayes, 2008). According to statistics from relevant security agencies, in the first half of 2019, there were 3,813 data breaches worldwide.
The number of published data was 4.1 billion, of which 8 security incidents resulted in 3.2 billion data breaches (Winder, 2020).
Cause I’m using cloud, I’m very worried that personal information will be leaked at time.
Overall, in the digital age of the 21st century, the transformative nature of this Internet innovation has more or less benefited everyone. An important feature of cloud computing is to provide users with computing services through the network, so one of the most direct changes brought by cloud computing to people is reflected in the convenience of obtaining resources. Online office, cloud music, cloud storage, e-commerce and other products that rely on cloud computing have become an indispensable part of our lives. As mentioned above, the network storage such as Google used in our daily life requires only an account to obtain stored data from any place with the Internet, which is more convenient and flexible than traditional disk storage and backup.

Whether it is work or entertainment, cloud computing has completely penetrated into our lives, because our lives can no longer leave the Internet. As stated in the concept of cloud computing: “Cloud computing will become a public resource like water and electricity. People can use it freely anytime, anywhere and at any time” Cloud computing has changed the way people live and work, and provides infinite possibilities. Cloud computing built on the network has brought people a lot of convenience and opened up a cloud life era for people in the future.
