With the coming of the sharing and opening Internet era, information is spread and circulated unimpeded, and resources are shared to the maximum extent, which indicates the coming of an era of social communication and social media. In this article, I will discuss the origin, benefit and influence of social media news sharing and media sharing economy. First of all, I will discuss the concept of sharing and how social media uses the concept of sharing to implement it in the social network era. Secondly, I will discuss that social media is easier to gain benefits in the political, economic and social sense. As John (2017) mentioned in the article, social media platforms confuse unequal business relationships by using the concept of sharing. Therefore, social media platforms get more benefits than users. Finally, I will show that social media platform gives me a better platform to share information, emotions and get information, but social media sharing also makes some of my privacy violated.
Social News Sharing and the Origin of Sharing Economy
Sharing economy and sharing culture are becoming more and more common in today’s society, and social news sharing gradually appears in today’s society. As John (2017) pointed out in the article, “sharing” has three different meanings: having something in common, communicating personal feelings and feelings, and being able to be distributed or divided. Belk (2010) also analyzed sharing from an anthropological point of view. He believed that sharing was originally based on an interrelated relationship and a consumption form that people can share. Meanwhile, John (2017) explored how internet companies and social platforms use the concept of “sharing economy” to promote the social platform sharing mode of network sharing and data sharing.
John (2017) mentioned in the article that the social networking platform realized the shared network in the early days through the new organization technology of computing (time sharing and file sharing, etc.). Wadbring and Odmark (2016) believe that the significance of news media lies in attracting people’s attention and balancing audience’s deliberate attention. However, Martin (2019) refuted their views, arguing that the significance of news sharing lies in reproducibility (29). Martin (2019) said in his article that news sharing is a manifestation of information dissemination in the process of dissemination, that is, news is more disseminated through sharing (29). In other words, news sharing is the initial expression of social platform sharing.
With the development of science and technology and the passage of time, social media realize that it is very important to use key topics to promote the speed of sharing information and spreading information. As Martin (2019) mentioned in the article, social media platforms (such as Facebook and Twitter, etc.) use this sharing form and keyword topics to dilute the transactions between third-party advertisers, thus forming the existing sharing economy and social news sharing methods (30).
Who is the real beneficiary?
As Martin and Tim (2019) mentioned in the article, social network companies and social media platforms provide social media users with seemingly free platform and service management in exchange for users’ data and information sharing. In other words, the advent of the Internet era of sharing and openness enables the unhindered spread and circulation of information. Resources can be shared to the greatest extent, which heralds the arrival of an era of social communication and social media. As Allmer (2015) mentioned in the article, in this kind of social relations market-oriented labor relations, users are not without rewards. This kind of sharing allows people to obtain the right to share on the platform network. For example, Facebook has quit sharing media that shared its own music stories.

With the gradual sharing of social media and network environment, social platforms seem to form a reasonable business relationship with users. In fact, in the political, economic and social sense, social media platform has formed the business behavior of capital deprivation and unequal business relationship, and social media platform has benefited from this deprivation relationship. Just as Nicholas John(2017) refuted Allmer(2015) in his article, social media platform deprived consumers (users) of their rights by confusing the concept of sharing and social media platform confused the actual product relationship (64-67). At the same time, Nicholas John (2017) also stated that the “reward” obtained by users cannot be equated with the paid shared information. In other words, the “reward” that users get is far lower than the benefits that social media platforms get.
Social network media platform has gained more and better benefits by sharing social news. Nicole＆Jessica and others (2011) also support John’s position. They think that social news sharing and information sharing provided by social media platforms are capitalist traps, which make social media platforms benefit from them. In other words, in the political, economic and social sense, the social media platform is making use of a seemingly labor relationship to make users get “rewards” and social media platforms get benefits from it. However, this kind of commodity relationship is actually an exploitative transaction relationship, and users actually do not get benefits in this sharing relationship of infringing privacy information, and social media platforms are the beneficiaries.
Influence and Problems of Media News Sharing
News media sharing has enabled me to obtain more social information from social media platforms and I have gradually adapted to this era of information sharing. In the operation of social media, and in the broadest sense of computer-assisted communication, the metaphor of sharing occupies a central position. Online sharing includes posting status, photos and videos; including tweets and blogs; and also includes sending information via email or WhatsApp. “Sharing” is so important in our digital lives that it can be considered a basic activity of social media. In recent years, online sharing has spread to sharing economy applications, such as Uber and Airbnb-“sharing” has brought digital and social flavors to this new field.
As Martin (2019) mentioned in the article, women are more likely to share “emotions” on social platforms than men and this emotional state can stimulate compassionate responses. However, even though social media provides a platform for users to share news, information and emotions, users are also facing privacy violations. As the video on YouTube explains, this kind of information sharing will make people no longer have “privacy”.
As Nicholas John (2017) expressed in the article, it is a deprivation and unequal business behavior for social media to obtain part of users’ privacy by confusing the concept of sharing. In other words, although social media platform provides users with a platform to share information, users’ privacy will be violated with the contracts they sign. Not only the above situation, BBC has also published an article saying that teenagers and children have been greatly influenced in today’s media sharing era.
In conclusion, social news sharing and social media sharing are gradually developed from the modern concept of sharing. With the development of science and technology, social media platforms have gradually entered a shared network state. In the whole trend of sharing social news, social media platforms get more benefits than users. Social media platform makes use of false business relationship to obtain information shared by users and gain benefits from it. In the current era of social media sharing, users can get the corresponding platform to share their lives, information and emotions. At the same time, users can also get news and information shared by other users through social media platforms. However, this kind of social media sharing will also lead to violation of users’ personal privacy and information.
