Augmented reality (AR) is an experience where parts of users’ physical world are enhanced by designers with the aid of computer-generated input. The inputs could be sound, video, graphics, GPS overlays — there are tons of digital content that are able to respond in real time to convert and change in the user’s environment.

AR does not only creates unique digital experiences that blends the digital and physical worlds, but it could also eliminates cognitive overload by presenting information in neatly summarised formats. It could heightens user engagements such as using customer loyalty programs to create engagement between brands and customers.

However, the policy of data collection as the tech companies could possibly abuse the location information or any other personal information for own’s benefits, so privacy is always the biggest concern when it comes to augmented reality.
