Emily & Vivian

With the rapid development of the Internet era, various platforms are also being continuously developed and improved. The volume and speed of information transmission is increasing at an astonishing rate.

The most common and popular internet platforms include: TikTok, WeChat, instagram, twitter, Facebook… most of them focused on sharing and communicating.

Emerging Internet platforms have realized that people’s thinking and creativity have been qualitatively improved in the past two years, so they are constantly updating and improving management policies in order to enhance the experience and create space for the platform.

In order to better govern users’ use of the Web, these platforms have released their own community rules and monitored users. One of the example is that YouTube mandates that videos do not contain violent, bloody or illegal or untrue content, and will be forced to be removed if the video content is monitored. Below is the real world example of a video has been took down in 2011 in Youtube because of the violation contents.

Another example is Google has always banned some words with ethical issues or political issues, such as “kill”, “whitelist”, “turkey, internet and freedom”…

The existence of Internet governance became the policy of Internet freedom to maintain a balanced and peaceful environment of the Internet. Since information is ubiquitous in the Internet era, strict regulation can help the development of the economy and the interaction between users. At the same time, technology should improve to ensure that while the data analysis speeds up, user security and privacy protection is also strengthened.
